In the early 1960’s a missionary under the banner of Christian Missions in Many Lands began gospel work in the Eastlands area of Nairobi - starting an outreach in the communities around Jerusalem, Kimathi, Buruburu, Bahati, Jericho, and Maringo. The outreach was mainly focused on children with Sunday School as the key ministry. A local primary school – Dr. Livingstone Primary School—hosted the Sunday School in the early years, which had over 200 children attending.

The central base of the fellowship was then relocated to a house church in Kimathi Estate D14for a time. After a couple of years as a house church, the fellowship of believers was registered in 1972 and looked for a home and by God’s grace settled in Kimathi Estate, and thus the 1st local assembly was established as Kimathi Chapel.

Since then, the Fellowship of Believers has established local assemblies in Nairobi, Machakos, and Kiambu Counties and runs several projects in education, healthcare, water, and finance that have impacted the lives of thousands.
